Archiving Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this Archiving Policy is to ensure the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all scholarly materials published in the Ethiopian Journal of Business and Social Sciences (EJBSS). This policy establishes mechanisms for digital preservation, permanent accessibility, and protection against data loss.
Scope
This policy applies to all materials published in EJBSS.
Archiving Principles
EJBSS is committed to:
1. Long-term digital preservation
2. Open and permanent accessibility
3. Data integrity and authenticity
4. Redundancy and backup security
5. Compliance with international scholarly publishing standards
Digital Archiving Strategy
EJBSS adopts a multi-layered archiving strategy to ensure permanent access:
1. Institutional Repository Archiving
All published articles are archived in the official institutional repository of Arba Minch University.
The repository ensures:
- Long-term preservation
- Stable URLs
- Institutional backup and redundancy
2. Website Backup
- The journal website and database are backed up regularly (daily/weekly depending on server capacity).
- Backups are stored in secure off-site and cloud storage systems.
- Technical responsibility lies with the journal IT administrator in collaboration with the university ICT directorate.
DOI and Persistent Identifiers
EJBSS assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through a recognized registration agency to ensure permanent identification and citation tracking.
Access Policy
EJBSS follows an Open Access policy, ensuring that all archived content remains freely accessible without subscription or payment barriers.
