Established with a non-profit objective, the journal publishes original research manuscripts following a rigorous blind peer-review process. Mission: The EIJET’s mission is a quality-oriented collaborative endeavour involving AMU and its global network. It aims to advance research in multidisciplinary science, technology, and engineering by providing high-quality, evidence-based papers for academicians, researchers, managers, and policymakers.
Vision: The vision for this proposed Journal publication is to establish an international, open-access scientific journal for publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research papers with global visibility, robust indexing, and rapid dissemination.

The primary aim of this initiative is to publish a Scientific Journal that showcases the institution's maturity and commitment to academic, research, and scientific contributions at both national and international levels. Specific objectives include:
- Aligning with the domain-driven sanctity of a Research University.
- Elevating the university's ranking nationally, continentally, and globally.
- Demonstrating global presence and highlighting research potential.
- Providing a platform and prioritizing African localized and glocalized research efforts and contributions.
- Standardizing and globalizing localized research initiatives by publishing their outcomes.
Nature, Scope and Focus area of the Journal
The Journal is committed to publishing novel research contributions and innovative research outcomes in the fields of Computing, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Design, Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, and other core and allied disciplines, emerging technologies, future generation engineering, and paradigms. It also publishes papers on effective and innovative principles and practices of engineering and technology management. The Journal accepts papers from authors worldwide, encompassing both developing and developed countries, under themes determined by the editorial boards. Priority for publication is given to research studies from African countries that address localized problems.

Open Access Policy: This journal is committed to the principle of open access, ensuring that research findings are freely available to the global scientific community. All articles published in this journal are immediately and permanently open access, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. This policy aligns with the principles of open science and aims to maximize the impact and dissemination of research. Authors can publish free of charges.
Abstracting and Indexing: The journal aims to obtain accreditation from the Ethiopian Ministry of Education and be indexed in reputable databases such as Scopus and Web of Science.
Visibility: To ensure global reach, the journal uses diverse digital media platforms to share research papers with a wider audience.
Peer review codes of conduct: Guidelines/Code of Conduct for reviewers to be followed:
- Objectivity: Reviews must be impartial and unbiased, avoiding personal attacks or preferential treatment.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must not share any information from an assigned manuscript with anyone without prior permission from the Editor. They must also refrain from preserving data from the manuscript.
- Expertise and Competence: Reviewers with inadequate expertise in the subject matter of an assigned manuscript should feel responsible and may feel free to decline the review timely.
- Constructive Assessment: Reviews should acknowledge the positive aspects of the work, provide constructive criticism on areas for improvement, and suggest necessary enhancements. Abusive and harassing language is strictly prohibited in review comments.
- Impartiality and Integrity: Reviewer decisions should be based solely on the scientific or technical merit, relevance to the journal's subject matter, and scope of the research, and not influenced by factors such as the authors' financial status, race, ethnicity, or origin.
- Biasness: Reviewers should not allow their reviews to be influenced by the authors' characteristics, such as gender, or religious or political beliefs.
- Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should declare any potential conflicting interests and seek advice from the journal’s office if they are unsure.
- Timeliness and Responsiveness: Reviewers are obligated to provide their review comments within the stipulated timeframe. They should also actively respond to any queries raised by the editor.
- Reviewer Recognition: Reviewers who provide timely and thorough peer-review reports will receive a certificate of appreciation as a token of gratitude.
Status of Ethiopian International Journal of Engineering and Technology: EIJET follows the highest standards of ethical conduct and maintains a commitment to moral justice in all its operations. This includes, but is not limited to:

EIJET reserves the right to conduct lawful audits of its operations on a case-by-case basis as deemed necessary to ensure compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
Publication Frequency: EIJET is a biannual journal but accepts manuscripts at any time and publishes them online / Offline as soon as the review process is completed.
Publication Timeline: The Journal has established target timelines for key stages of the publication process.
- Manuscript Submission Acknowledgment: Authors will receive an acknowledgment of manuscript receipt within 7 days.
- Peer Review: The typical peer review process takes 8 to 12 weeks. Authors will be notified within this timeframe. The timeframe may vary depending on reviewer availability and agreements. Authors will be promptly informed of any delays or changes to the expected timeline. Typically, authors receive review recommendations automatically. However, the editorial manager may also inform the author of the decision via email.
- Acceptance Decision: Once the review process is completed, with at least two reviews received from assigned reviewers, a decision will be communicated to the author. If both reviewers provide positive feedback (Accepted with Major/Minor/No Change), the manuscript will be accepted. If both reviewers recommend rejection, the manuscript will be rejected. If the reviewers have differing opinions (e.g., one recommends acceptance, the other rejection), a third reviewer will be assigned. The final decision will be based on the majority opinion of the reviewers.
- Publication: After the review process, authors are expected to submit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe i.e., 1-2 weeks. Digital version production and publication typically take 2-3 weeks. Generally, the total time from acceptance to publication is 30-45 days. However, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances related to author revisions or reviewer availability. The hard copy will be published within 30 days of the digital publication.
- Plagiarism: EIJET ensures that published papers exhibit a plagiarism limit ≤ 20%. This threshold does not apply to the literature review sections of the articles.

Journal History: The EIJET first published its inaugural issue (Volume 1, Issue 1) in April 2023. As of December 2024, the journal has reached its 2nd volume (Volume 2, Issue 2), marking the publication of its fourth issue since its inception.
