Ethiopian International Journal of Engineering and Technology

  1. High-Quality Research: The journal prioritizes publishing rigorous and impactful research that significantly contributes to the scientific, engineering technology fields.
  2. English Language:Manuscripts must be written in English. Authors are encouraged to use professional editing services for clarity.
  3. Author Responsibility:The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring all co-authors approve the manuscript and that all necessary documentation is provided, including acknowledgements, affiliations, ethical approvals, and conflict of interest declarations.
  4. Copyright:Authors retain copyright, but the journal grants the right to reuse and distribute the work with proper attribution.
  5. Plagiarism:Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be automatically rejected.
  6. Ethical Conduct:All research must follow to ethical guidelines, including data integrity, participant safety, and responsible research practices.
  7. Data Availability:Authors are encouraged to make research data and materials available to support reproducibility.
  8. Conflict of Interest: All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  9. Ethics Approval:Ethical approval from relevant committees is mandatory for human or animal studies.
  10. Authorship Changes:Changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors.
  11. Simultaneous Submissions:Simultaneous submissions to multiple journals are strictly prohibited.
  12. Editorial Independence:The journal maintains editorial independence, and advertising or sponsorship will not influence editorial decisions.
  13. Exclusive Submission:Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
  14. Inclusive Editorial Policy: Editorial board members when publishing in their own journal:
    1. Transparency: Openly declare their role and potential conflict of interest.
    2. Recusal: Remove themselves from the entire review and decision-making process for their own submissions.
    3. Independent Review: Ensure a fair and rigorous peer-review process, managed by other qualified members of the editorial team.
    4. No Preferential Treatment: Submissions should be judged solely on merit, without any advantage due to their position.
    5. Disclosure: Clearly state the position of author (Editor-in-Chief, Co editor in chief or other type of Editorial board members) in a cover letter. Also, disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, personal, etc.).
    6. Submission Process: The submitting editor must use the regular submission system, without bypassing any steps. Do not interact with the editorial system or handle the submission in any way.
    7. Independent Handling: The submission should be assigned to a different Editorial board member (other than author), who has no relationship with the submitting editor (as an author). Reviewers should be selected by the handling editor (editor-in-chief or co editor in Chief i.e., other than the author who is serving as an editorial team members). The submitting editor (author) should be kept away from the editorial and reviewer decisions.
    8. Review Process: The review should be conducted rigorously and objectively, following the journal's standard procedures. The submitting editor should have no influence on the review process.
    9. Decision: The final decision should be made by the handling editor, based on the reviews and without influence from the submitting editor.
    10. Transparency in Publication: If accepted, the published article in EIJET should clearly state the author's position within the journal. For this the EIJET publishes a statement about the handling of submissions from editorial members.
    11. Adherence to Policies: The submission will follow all other journal policies, including those related to authorship, conflicts of interest, and publication ethics.
    12. The EIJET: Upon implementing these measures, EIJET aims to ensure that all submissions, including those from editorial team members, are evaluated fairly and objectively, upholding the journal's commitment to ethical publishing practices.
